**Home and Community Care Support Services** is looking for a Financial Specialist (Payroll) with expertise in assisting with the annual budget, mid-year forecasting and integral to the processing of non-union payroll and union negotiations costing. You will also assist with the analysis of benefits and compensation plans for the purposes of negotiation of labour relations contracts. The Financial Specialist (Payroll) will import payroll data to general ledger and prepare monthly reports for payroll, import files for service provider payments and input A/R journal entries as required.

Core Duties - Responsibilities:

**What will you do?**
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and variance analysis
- Process payroll for all non-union and management staff
- Process and reconcile all monthly statutory remittances to Revenue Canada, Receiver General for the non-union payroll group
- Administer year end procedures such as T4’s, T4A’s, HOOPP (pension) reporting for the non-union payroll group
- Complete, verify and issue Record of Employment upon termination or leaves for the non-union payroll group
- Assist with year-end audit, projects and implementations
- Develop and maintain relevant procedure manuals

Qualifications:
**What must you have?**
- Minimum two year community college Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in an accounting environment
- Thorough understanding of payroll principles and labour regulations
- Intermediate level of experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet and/or other computer software (or equivalent)
- Knowledge and experience in MIS guidelines & reporting requirements
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Analytical, problem solving, decision making abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Customer service focus

Skills & Abilities:
**What**
**would give you the edge?**
- Current designation or enrolled in a certified accounting program preferred but not required (CPA, CGA, CMA or equivalent)
- Experience in using Management Reporter and Great Plains general ledger an asset
- Experience in health care sector would be an asset
- Experience working with an HCCSS organization
- Willingness to up-grade training and education
