For over 40 years, Covenant House has been dedicated to its mission of serving youth on the street and to protect and safeguard all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love. Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.

**Purpose**:
The Manager, Development Services will support the revenue growth and retention for Major Gift and Corporate donors. Maintain support framework for the solicitors which includes research, proposal development and reporting, with oversight to a systematic approach to researching, assigning and cultivating donors.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Develops annual plans and budgets to support strategic vision for the department.
- Create effective proposal and stewardship reports for major gift and corporate donors.
- Ensure all donor communications follow agency brand guidelines and use ethical storytelling and a trauma informed approach.
- Identify/create key stories to align with donor funding in stewardship proposals.
- Ensures that donors and prospects are stewarded in accordance with organizational recognition program and/or the activities identified in the proposal/agreement.
- Develop timelines and co-ordinate cross-functional teams needed to ensure that proposals are on track and that all key players understand their role.
- Work closely with Communications and Donor Experience teams to ensure that the Development team is using the most update branding, messaging, imaging etc. in their work.
- Work with the Research and Evaluation team to access information that would be relevant in donor communications, proposals, reports etc. Ensure that this information is being used. Correctly.
- Create new strategies to develop a strong pipeline of new major gift donors.
- Work with solicitors to develop multiple strategies for how to engage prospects.
- Recruit, train, delegate, supervise and manage performance of direct reports, students and/or volunteers assigned to them.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- 5+ years’ experience in fundraising or related area (corporate social responsibility, cause marketing/sponsorships, sales)
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated experience in prospect management process
- Experience with the Raiser’s Edge module or similar CRM data base an asset
- Experience working a large, complex not-for-profit environment
- Experience with writing compelling material
