**Key areas of responsibility include**:

- Supports the research manager by providing timely and necessary information required for project management and communication with clients;
- Assists in design of different research methodologies, development of data collection tools and analysis plans;
- Contributes to the implementation of research and evaluation projects, or components of complex research studies;
- Undertakes data review, analysis, and reporting on large complex data sets using a range of analytical tools;
- Undertakes sample planning and sample management, data validation and manipulation, quantitative and/or qualitative analyses, integration of data from multiple sources and report-writing;
- Development of progress reports, client presentations, and editing and formatting reports for clients;
- Participates in the implementation of research projects by supporting project management through organizing project activities, guiding work flow, and monitoring project hours and budgets; and
- Always demonstrates professionalism while on the job.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in the social sciences or other applicable discipline related to data processing, professional report writing, and statistics.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, document research methods, and describe research results.
- Malatest staff must adhere to privacy, security, confidentiality, and quality standards and be legally entitled to work and travel in Canada. Working with Malatest to obtain security clearances with the Industrial Security Directorate Division of Public Works and Government Services Canada; a criminal record check, is required.

The physical work environment may change depending on task and project. Employees may be required to use, lift, and sometimes carry standard office equipment or project related supplies weighting under 10 lb. When in the office, sitting for long periods of time while using a computer will be required.

**Work Location: Victoria, BC**
**Hours of Work**:Permanent full-time, 40 hours per week; while hours of work for the position may vary—with overtime as required to meet the requirements and expectations of the position.

**Rate of Pay**:$55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year (based on qualifications), plus benefits and performance bonus.
