**Position Overview -**
Reporting to the VP and senior buyer this is a key position with in the company.
**Position**:Inventory Analyst / Data Analyst**
The inventory Analyst will actively make decisions on a weekly basis, purchasing inventory. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and communicating with vendors, sales managers and category managers to ensure a lean supply chain. You will also need to periodically organize inventory cycle counts
**What we are looking for**
- Experience in product replenishment in the grocery industry is required
- Experience with an ERP. Experience with Microsoft Dynamic Navision is an asset
- Work experience with Jet report and Power BI
- Strong working knowledge of Excel is required
- Strong knowledge of grocery wholesale business in terms of seasonality and product mix
- Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience is required
- Must be detail-oriented and must be able to handle multiple priorities in a faced-paced environment
**What you’ll do**:
Forecasting and Replenishment
Maintains Min/Max stock levels by managing the product order cycles, vendor minimums, vendor lead times, product shelf life, truckload capacity and logistics schedules and executing purchase orders
- Revises system forecast to factor in any abnormalities and executes purchase orders
- Reviews inventory and initiates communication with sales managers and category managers as needed
- Orders for promotions based on prior sales performance, professional knowledge, and current market factors such as specials advertised by the competition and chain retailers
- Follows-up with vendor to ensure vendor has blocked time with the warehouse and prevent delays in receipt of order
- Coordinates the return, damaged of products with vendors due to various reasons, and make sure proper credit has been issued by vendor on an ongoing basis
**Additional Responsibilities**:
- Investigates vendor service level issues and pricing issues at every instance and communicates implication with Category Managers, Sales Managers and Inventory Management
- Actively manages the utilization of deals and forward buys to ensure maximum overall benefit and cost optimization
- Manages the product life cycle and negotiates special deals with vendors, as needed
- Escalate issues to the appropriate levels of management for review
- Tracks and reports relevant Supply Chain metrics
- Consistently demonstrates Genuine Merchant Customer Service by providing on-time response to customer queries and be knowledgeable about the products and their availability
- Utilizes a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities within the supply chain to reduce costs through ordering patterns, optimal transportation routes, or process improvement.
