Northern Strands is currently recruiting for a team player to fulfill the role of a** Project Coordinator (NS Progressioner).** Our client base predominantly includes the prairie provinces inland grain terminals across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This position performs a variety of tasks and is primarily responsible for the daily coordination of the Northern Strands Progressioner division operations including field services and internal processes. The project coordinator is the primary interface between the client, the field crews, and the internal divisional stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Division Manager.

This position is considered safety sensitive and therefore it is a condition of employment to pass a Drug & Alcohol test.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Division Coordination
- Schedule rail car progressioner (or related Ag terminal services) projects so as to complete projects in most efficient manner possible utilizing resources available in geographic areas
- Be prepared to take calls on evenings and weekends to coordinate schedule changes for existing projects or to arrange for crews to attend an urgent call out to a customer site
- Preparation of quotations for all project opportunities
- Liaise with Saskatoon office and vendors for ordering parts, materials, and equipment for projects
- Facilitate weekly divisional meetings to review opportunity management and ongoing projects
- Compile and issue inspection reports and project turnover packages for completed work
- Coordinate safety inspections and maintenance on fleet vehicles at required intervals to maintain compliance to regulations and continuity in operational reliability for work performed
- Obtaining fleet vehicle permitting required for interprovincial travel and project work based on interprovincial requirements and regulations
- Estimating and Sales
- Respond to customer inquiries and project opportunities
- Generate project quotations in accordance with customer requirements
- Purchasing and Inventory
- Managing surplus inventory including manufacturing and refurbishment of salvaged or exchanged assets
- Follow-up with vendors on purchase orders to confirm arrival dates, stock availability, etc.
- Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety standards as outlined in the COR program
- Review and sign COR forms related to activities in the field
- Track and manage company fleet vehicle compliance, permits, and driver licensing

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Estimating experience considered an asset
- Industrial site work experience (rail car progressioner or Ag terminal experience considered an asset)
- Trade or safety certificates related to industrial construction would be beneficial, but not required
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (G-endorsement or 1A License considered an asset)
- Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) considered an asset
- Experience with Accpac would be considered an asset
