**Policy Analyst**
100% Regular
Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week *Hybrid Model
Union Exempt, Level 5: $67,900 to $79,900
Reporting to the General Manager of Board Services, the Policy Analyst is responsible for developing, coordinating, reviewing and editing the District’s policies and procedures and provides logístical support for the management of the Board’s policy framework. The Policy Analyst conducts research, analyzes issues and legislation, and recommends changes/revisions to policies, procedures and applicable forms; provides project support to policy stakeholders by guiding and facilitating the review, editing and development of policies and procedures, while ensuring they meet current legislative requirements and reflect the Board’s commitment to human rights and equity.
**Qualifications**- Post secondary degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, Law or related field and 3 to 5 years of experience developing and analyzing public policy, preferably with the public sector or not-for-profit organization/agency.-
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles and technique of policy formulation and articulation.-
- Knowledge of the Education Act, various regulations and general knowledge of the Ontario educational system and Ontario parliamentary system.-
- Advanced level of writing and research abilities for the purpose of preparing complex documents for a diverse client base.-
- Effective leadership skills and communication skills (written and oral) required.-
- Diplomacy and discretion is required for handling sensitive and confidential information.-
- Excellent organization and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and priorities within set timelines**Application Process**
