We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team:
Equitable Hiring Advisor
100% Regular
Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
$67,900 - $79,900 per year (Union Exempt Level 5)
Under the direction of the Program Manager, Leadership & Staff Development, the Equitable Hiring Advisor will coordinate and oversee hiring processes to ensure that fair, consistent, transparent, and equitable staffing processes and practices for all positions are adhered to, in accordance with the OCDSB’s Equitable Recruitment, Hiring, and Promotion policy and procedure, and in alignment with the Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Roadmap.
**Qualifications**:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school principals and vice-principals, senior staff and District employees.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills in a large and small group settings.
Experience developing training materials related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Organizational and time management skills are essential for planning projects, juggling multiple priorities and demands, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Sound judgement is required to resolve conflicts, as well as the ability to coach and guide selection panels.
Research and analytical skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently with mínimal direction or supervision.
Thorough understanding of human resources policies, programs and practices related to equitable recruiting and staffing in a unionized work environment;
Proficiency in French and English is considered an asset.
This knowledge would normally be acquired through a post-secondary education in Human Resources, Human Rights, or a related field, as well as 5 - 6 years recruiting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
