As a Controller and reporting to the Director, Finance, you will be accountable for managing Supply Ontario's systems, processes and standards in the areas of corporate accounting, controllership, treasury, fiscal and financial management, inventory and payroll administration in support of the overall organization and department strategies.
**Other key responsibilities include**:
- Managing the delivery of financial, payroll and controllership programs and services such as establishing and maintaining appropriate accounting policies, processes, and procedures; monitoring major accounting functions; overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements and financial reporting while ensuring consistency with overall section and department performance measures, standards, and best practices and integration with overall Supply Ontario directions.
- Managing Supply Ontario's financial operations, systems and the evaluation and implementation of controllership risk assessments and best practices in systems, processes, and controls.
- Overseeing the implementation of quality assurance activities and reviews across Supply Ontario; identifies and implements needed corrective actions.
- Supporting Supply Ontario's leadership in formulating strategy and developing tactics and provides leadership in executing controllership programs and services to deliver on strategy and tactics.
- Overseeing the implementation of section or department programs, services, and work areas, including operational processes and procedures to meet the overall operational plans and priorities of the section or department.
- Providing controllership expertise and advice to Supply Ontario management and staff.
- Overseeing the development of finance policies and processes including implementing performance measures and continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Working with the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer in operational accounting, development and reporting on performance metrics, program effectiveness, risks and impacts related to controllership and financial matters.
- Developing and managing relationships and consultation with stakeholders impacted by the controllership and financial function to discuss and clarify program or service-related issues and needs.
- Key liaison with external audit, Auditor General and SO Audit Committee.
- Degree in Accounting and/or MBA (preferred).
- 6 - 8 years' experience in financial management, accounting and controllership, and financial systems in a public sector, provincial agency, or broader public sector setting.
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial management, controllership, financial planning, budget planning and implementation, business planning, and general administration policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and skills in financial systems and payroll administration processes and practices.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices and audit mechanisms.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical agility and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to communicate and build cross-functional relationships and think strategically and support business objectives while effectively balancing risk/reward trade offs.
- Leadership skills to provide strategic direction and advice senior management and to lead a diverse team involving a variety of roles, levels and experience.
- Excellent relationship management, communication skills, both written and verbal.

This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement; at the time of posting, this position would require in-office presence 3 days per week, based on current operational requirements.
