Mental Wellness Clinical Lead/Mental Health Nurse

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our team at Shibogama First Nations Council. In this role, under the direction of the Health Director, you will assist in leading the Payahtakenemowin Mental Health & Wellness Programs and provide Clinical Support to community-based Nurses working in member communities. You will contribute to the enhancement of clinical practice within member communities and locally in Sioux Lookout.

Details

1. Provide advanced clinical skills to offer assessments and intervention services to clients.
2. Maintain current clinical best practices, instrumental in demonstrating specific clinical needs to other clinicians.
3. Provide clinical supervision and guidance to other clinicians, ensuring quality care.
4. Develop and deliver educational programs and training to enhance the assessment and intervention process.
5. Implement and maintain a competency-based supervision model to develop other clinicians.
6. Uphold the quality of assessment, intervention, and supervision practices.
7. Maintain detailed and accurate client records, ensuring adherence to standards and protocols.
8. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic client care.
9. Offer comprehensive client education and support for a positive healthcare experience.

Qualifications

1. Hold a valid degree in the healthcare field and be in good standing with the appropriate regulatory College.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience.
3. A minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
4. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check valid within the year.
5. Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Excel in a collaborative and dynamic healthcare environment.
7. A strong understanding of medical protocols and best practices.
8. Be willing to travel periodically to remote and isolated communities.
9. Good understanding of the Social Determinants of Health in Indigenous Populations in the region.

Preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous Canadians and those who can communicate in dialects within the Treaty 9 Territory.
