**Position Summary**:
Astron Speciality Metals is currently looking for a full time Estimator/Account Manager for an existing customer base. The Estimator/Account Manager will be responsible for analyzing client documentation. They will interpret information to determine the project scope and requirements for the preparation of estimates/proposals. The Estimator/Account Manager also works as a Sales and Client Service Representative to prepare cost estimates for all Company business.

The Estimator/Account Manager is self-motivated, and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills with an eye for detail. As an Estimator/Account Manager, you are committed to providing service & support to our customers and communicating those requirements to our team.

**Reports to**:

- The Estimator/Account Manager reports directly to the Sales Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Communicate with customers to determine full scope of their inquiries and qualify opportunities to meet company goals.
- Interpret the RFQ information and discuss any additional details with the client to clarify or further assess client specific requirements.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimated costs of materials, labor, for custom metals RFQ.
- Prepare estimates for all production jobs based on job specifications received.
- Create detailed estimate packages for Customer RFQs by identifying all required materials, machining/fabricating steps, outsourcing and handling.
- Work with vendors to source material and services while negotiating best price and delivery to meet our customer’s expectations.
- Price all production work using the Company’s established estimating criteria. Estimate non -standard work in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
- Maintain pricing and discount terms and allowances to ensure consistent estimating practices. Work with the best suppliers and competitive prices, sales and stay abreast of pricing changes monitoring trends.
- Billing and invoice preparation and payment assistance when required.
- Sales, customer contact, and follow-up after completion of work.
- Employee and customer retention and relationship building.
- Continually analyze job progress/ execution with Production team to compare Estimates to Actuals to improve our services to our customers.
- Coordinate with other members of our team to generate sales/ new opportunities and provide excellent customer service.
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
- All other duties and projects as assigned by management.

**Skills, Abilities, and other Qualifications**:

- Post Secondary Education in a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
- 5 years of relevant fabrication estimating experience. Experience in estimating custom fabrications an asset.
- Knowledge of reading blueprints including fabrication, machining, and welding procedures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organization skills will be essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- Be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Time management, works with a sense of urgency.
- To bring decisive, focused leadership & be results driven.
- To be accountable to yourself and your co-workers.
- Customer Service focused mindset with the ability to provide service recovery when required.
