We currently have an opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Human Resources Specialist. This position will report to the General Manager and is responsible for supporting the management team with their people needs, including employee relations, recruitment and on-boarding, training, performance evaluations, resignations, terminations and various human resources requirements. This role is an advisor who is committed to increasing the effectiveness of the management team by streamlining the people processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Support managers with all employee relations issues (performance, attendance, harassment etc) and conduct investigations as necessary.
- Facilitate on-boarding of all new hires.
- Ensure the Employee Policies Handbook is current and that all policies are communicated to employees.
- Work with managers to develop and maintain training programs (Health & Safety), track all training received by employees.
- Manage and maintain all administrative aspects of any Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Manage and document the annual performance reviews.
- Track employee absences.
- Liaise with and assist payroll on bi-weekly basis.
- Manage the benefits program (for example, enroll new employees, terminate exiting employees, answer employee questions, coordinate benefits renewal process).
- Facilitate the resignation/termination process, providing recommendations on termination payments when necessary, draft letters, conduct exit interviews etc.
- Work with managers to develop and maintain overall positive work environment and culture.

Qualifications**:Post secondary education, preferably in Human Resources ** Minimum of one (1) years related work experience in Human Resources** ** Excellent verbal, written and listening skills with ability to coach others

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal appropriately with sensitive issues
- Ability to remain objective, exercising good judgment, diplomacy and decision making
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word required
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and an exceptional ability to work well within a team environment
- **Pay based on experience**

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
