**Role**:
The Training Academy (TA) is responsible for establishing Peace Officer training standards, review and approval of training curricula and audit of training courses as authorized by the Director of Law Enforcement under the Peace Officer Regulation. The TA is also responsible for delivering correctional and peace officer training programs and other related training at or through its facilities.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Services and Support, the Business Services Analyst position is critical in identifying opportunities to optimize systems and business solutions to ensure core functions of the TA are running smoothly. The work involves consultation with management, staff, and clients to ensure the appropriate processes and systems are identified, planned, implemented, supported, and evaluated to enhance training programs and TA operations.

You will look to continuously drive improvements across the TA by exploring effective use of processes, information, and system capabilities to recommend ideas to the systems owner and users. This involves a customer centric approach to external usability and a staff centric approach for effective process and information utilization. You will develop the solutions roadmaps required for improvements that align to the objectives and strategic goals. As well, continuously working to digitize and optimize services.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing strategies and plans to support business improvement and automation, including determining the most suitable approach to be used for each applicable program or project, to ensure business objectives and data integrity are achieved.
- Researching, analyzing, and recommending system solutions and technology to strengthen operations and training delivery.
- Ensuring system solutions are appropriately sourced, mapped, tested, implemented, maintained, audited, and enhanced.
- Developing training and user manuals/materials.
- Overseeing IT inventory management including tracking, evergreen planning, implementing, and auditing.
- Ensuring cross-government initiatives are successfully implemented within the TA.
- Enhancing communication and information sharing with TA staff, participants (students), agencies, clients and the public through the development, implementation, support, and maintenance of the TA’s internet/intranet page
- Providing excellent customer service and support for all sections within the branch, and other experts within the organization to facilitate informed decision-making about investments in process, information, and technology.
- Anticipating, investigating, identifying business operations improvement opportunities, and making solution recommendations with statistical information to product owners and/or management teams.
- Collaborating with delivery team and business users to ensure that designed solutions meet business needs, validating the solution into production and monitoring results post release.
- Actively monitor GoA IT related policies impacting TA services.
- Building a trusting relationship with stakeholders.

- Ability to conceptualize interconnecting issues, then analyze and develop alternative solutions
