**The Opportunity**:
The Clinical Trials Navigator is responsible for establishing standard practice and administrative procedures for clinical trial navigation at the IWK and acts as a liaison with research teams, funders and industry partners. Fifty percent (50%) of their time will focus on work specific to the RareKids CAN and pediatric rare disease clinical trials. The Navigator reports to and works closely with the Research & Innovation Advancement Lead, Program Development providing support on similar initiatives and as required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Development of Clinical Trial Navigational Tools
- Develop SOPs and guideline documents for clinical trial processes
- Develop investigator networks to facilitate clinical trial collaborations
- Develop promotional and educational material
- Clinical Trials Liaison
- Serve as primary point of contact for groups such as RareKids-CAN, funders and industry partners for clinical trial inquiries.
- Participate in clinical trial mentorship and training opportunities.
- Attend and participate in related meetings as required.
- Clinical Trial Coordination
- Identify teams whose practice and interests align with clinical trial opportunities.
- Liaise with investigators/study teams to initiate a timely, and efficient start-up.
- Assist and develop process to assess feasibility for industry sponsored clinical trials.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours shift

**Your Qualifications**:

- Master’s Degree, e.g. MBA, Health Service Administration, etc. with a strong project management or research foundation is required.
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in a related role.
- Clinical Trials experience required.
- Experience with multi-stakeholder initiatives and projects.
- Experience in the health sciences research environment.
- Excellent organizational and process management skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and meet timelines.
- Proven ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Natural ability to build rapport and trust while dealing with complex issues in a demanding and dynamic environment.
- A positive, diplomatic interpersonal style, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening.
- Understanding of and/or training in GCP, TCPS2, Division 5, and experience with Health Canada and ethics review processes.
- Knowledge of hospital and/or research administrative processes would be an asset.
- Knowledge of laboratory practices, principles, and methods for research as per Laboratory Quality Management (LQM) standards, as well as Biosafety and GLP standards and practices is an asset.
- Knowledge of commercialization and intellectual property management is desirable.
