Position Overview

The Clinical Research Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing research initiatives within the Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery sectors at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This position involves the comprehensive management of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols, and maintaining the integrity of research data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Research Managers to determine necessary resources for study execution.
  • Assist in the recruitment and screening of potential study participants.
  • Review patient health records to identify eligible candidates and secure informed consent.
  • Serve as a primary contact for participants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate appointments for study participants and liaise with clinical staff as needed.
  • Compile and analyze study data utilizing databases and spreadsheets.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course is preferred.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) is an asset.
  • Relevant clinical experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills.
  • Previous experience managing clinical trials is highly desirable.
Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a commitment of 75 hours bi-weekly. The role is structured as a long-term assignment.

Compensation and Benefits
