RBG directs its efforts, and seeks the support of individuals and organizations, to realize its vision of a world in which everyone is awake to the beauty, diversity and necessity of plants, and from that consciousness more actively works together to protect and preserve plant species and habitats and, by extension, our planet.- _Director, Marketing _and in collaboration with the marketing team and department leads, the position is responsible for:
**Responsibilities**
- Leading communications to promote RBG through earned media and influencers to increase attendance and support revenue generating opportunities.
- Collaborating to promote business streams and activities through standard business practices.
- Creating and evaluating promotional approaches for RBG’s services; providing communication services to build positive relationships with users and visitors through various written materials.
- Developing a strategic plan to reach new audiences.
- Building effective relationships with media outlets, influencers and local partners to increase RBG's exposure.
- Planning and executing media and influencer events to gain earned media coverage. Monitoring and evaluating communications activities to track performance and adjust for maximum reach.**Qualifications**
- Strong understanding of large multi-purpose venues and diverse business streams.
- Knowledge and experience in marketing, media relations, public relations, and place making.
- Writing, editing, and proofreading skills for media materials.
- Knowledge of analytical and research techniques required to develop, monitor and adjust media relations strategies when required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Project management skills to understand the media environment, consumer trends and align tactics with RBG’s business streams.
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Working Conditions**

Position is required to work both indoors and outdoors. Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be outdoor in varying conditions, heat, cold, rain, snow.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to engage in the natural lands and gardens when escorting media.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
