**About the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (the College)**
The College is the authority mandated by the Government of Canada to regulate the practice of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) and Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs). Its role, authority and powers are established in the _College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act _(Canada). The College sets and enforces the licensing, education and ethical standards of the profession in the public interest.

**How will this role support our team?**
The incumbent fulfills the College’s public awareness mandate using consistent messaging and brand building through the issues and media management with various stakeholders. This includes supporting the Manager, Issues Management and Stakeholder and Government Relations and where appropriate, the Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver information about the College and its programs to licensees and the public.
**Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)**
- Monitor media stories daily and distribute to the Senior Management Team (SMT) highlighting relevant media and potential issues.
- Track, research and identify systemic issues and trends in media calls and within the sector. Provide regular reports to the manager, director and Senior Communications Advisors for distribution to SMT and business partners.
- Write content for media responses and other communications products such as briefings, website text, news releases, scripts, speeches, presentations, correspondence related to issues, etc., for the manager’s review.
**This role will support our team by providing**
- Understanding of the College’s key target audiences to contribute to and recommend best reach for these audiences
- Ability to proofread and edit communications products for clarity, accuracy and consistent messaging
**Required Education and Experience**
- College Diploma in a related field
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in issues and media management

Le titulaire du poste remplit le mandat de sensibilisation du public conféré au Collège en ayant recours à des messages et une stratégie de marque cohérents au moyen de la gestion des enjeux et des médias auprès de diverses parties prenantes. Il s’agit notamment de soutenir le gestionnaire, gestion d’enjeux et relations avec les parties prenantes et gouvernementales, et, s’il y a lieu, les membres de la haute direction, pour communiquer des renseignements sur le Collège et ses programmes aux titulaires de permis et au public.
**Les responsabilités comprennent les éléments suivants (sans toutefois s’y limiter)**
- Surveiller quotidiennement les reportages des médias et les communiquer à l’équipe de la haute direction en leur signalant les médias pertinents et les enjeux potentiels.
- Agir en tant que premier répondant aux demandes des médias qui proviennent de différents canaux (p. ex. les courriels ou appels téléphoniques destinés au service) et les transmettre au gestionnaire pour qu’il prenne d’autres mesures, le cas échéant.
- Collaborer avec les membres du service et les experts en la matière du Collège pour rechercher des réponses appropriées aux questions des médias et aux enjeux des parties prenantes.
