**JOB SUMMARY**:
We currently have an opening for a Payroll Accounting Analyst within our Financial Accounting team. The responsibilities include, but not limited to: preparation of payroll account reconciliations and analysis of general ledger (G/L) accounts, ensuring all related journal entries are processed in a timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and company guidelines, working on projects to improve reconciliations and make the accounting close process more efficient as well as provide timely and accurate information to support business decisions.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Carries out the full payroll accounting cycle.
- Prepares reconciliations and analysis of payroll G/L accounts including payroll clearing, net pay, tax, deductions, incentives, and vacation liability.
- Creates monthly payroll related journal entries.
- Investigates data quality issues and unusual transactions on a timely basis and works with HR/Payroll independently to resolve issues. Reports to management on payroll accounting issues.
- Leads project to improve quality of payroll account reconciliations.
- Participates in projects that improve the accounting close cycle and support business decision making.
- Participates in quarterly and annual audits.
- Performs other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Ceridian software is an asset
- Knowledge of GAAP and audit standards
- Good understanding of balance sheet accounts, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accrual accounting
- Excellent communication (written & oral) skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage varying deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and recommend ideas for improvement on existing established policies and practices

**WORK EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM REQUIRED**:

- 2 years of related experience**EDUCATION**:
