**Advisor Debt Management Specialist**

The Advisor Debt Management Specialist is responsible for investigating, tracking, recording and collecting debt that arises from commission sales within PPI. The Advisor Debt Management Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that financial operations related to collections are handled accurately and promptly by communicating these balances both to our external insurance advisors as well as internally to decision makers within PPI.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor the commission systems of our carrier partners on a monthly basis and record any debt that arises.
- Maintain and curate debit balance dashboards for seven distinct regions within PPI.
- Perform in-depth commission investigations as required and prepare clear and concise reporting related to debts and their root causes.
- Build effective relationships with Advisors and internal partners, acting as a consistent point of contact on debt related issues, ensuring prompt follow-through to resolution.
- Assist Sales team members with furthering their understanding of debts and recovery efforts.
- Collaborate with the Accounting department to accurately allocate debt repayments from Advisors, ensuring that all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled.
- Liaise with external debt collection agencies to escalate collection of difficult accounts.
- Additional responsibilities, duties and special projects as identified.
- Engage in actions that encourage, reflect and align with PPI’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) commitments to our Advisors, their clients and our employees.

**Education, Experience and Skills**:

- 2 - 3 years experience in the insurance industry in a collections role or similarly aligned Financial Accounting position.
- Experience in a highly service-oriented role.
- Demonstrated financial acumen with strong mathematical and analytical skills and an understanding of Basic Accounting principles.
- Excellent judgement with strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Outstanding attention to detail with proven ability to be precise, accurate and meticulous.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with proven ability to handle multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced level of the English language required as incumbent is required to collaborate with English speaking clients and colleagues, in addition to liaising with third party collection agencies to support debt management efforts on a daily basis.
- Proven ability to work effectively with others to establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
