**About this Role**

The Business Insights & Analytics role provides consultative support, business insight, advice and expertise to guide decision making and/or strategic planning by leveraging and interpreting data and analytical models to provide business specific or broad strategic insight.

The Business Insights Specialist role independently leads on the interpretation of complex business issues, generating multifaceted insights, identifying opportunities to drive business growth and value. This role will work in partnership with business leaders to present or generate appropriate insights

**Key areas of focus include**:

- Develop analytic solutions to support insight generation
- Serve as an authority on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery
- Educate business partners and build awareness on how to interpret the data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward
- Perform analysis, translating data into information, and answering business questions (hypotheses, testing, data gathering, analysis, story building, and communication to stakeholders)
- Interpret analytic outputs and data by using visualization to illustrate business insights
- Work with stakeholders to conduct scenario planning & analysis and interpret trends and variances
- Provides consultative advise to guide analytics developments through regular communication with business partners/stakeholders that define business requirements
- Recommend new business or operational strategies based on analysis and insights
- Adhere to privacy and enterprise protect guidelines around data sharing, and ensure appropriate controls and governance is in place

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Work closely with business partners to gain deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives in order to contribute to the strategic direction of respective business and/or the enterprise
- Formulate relevant and meaningful data analysis through comprehensive profiling tools, segmentation, as well as leveraging advanced modeling and analytics
- Lead on the interpretation of complex business issues, generate multifaceted insights and identify opportunities to help drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs
- Present and communicate generated insights and recommended business actions to stakeholders/ business leaders in an easily digestible manner
- Act as the primary interface with business to bridge and translate business requirements to analytics and reporting needs for a given domain/business
- Partner directly with the broader Data & Analytics team to deliver on the end-to-end information design process, from data ingestion to visualization
- Escalate data/process related problems and communicate to relevant teams in a timely manner and make recommendations for resolution
- Provides day-to-day support and delivery of analytics Build insights solutions end to end (from initial demand to results/recommendation presentation) ranging in complexity

**Job Requirements**

- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
- Seven (7) or more years relevant experience
- Technical knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Visual Studio)
- Modelling and forecasting experience considered an asset
