At Speeders, we love to race. We’re the first indoor electric go-karting facility in Canada, and for over 11 years, we’ve been delivering an exhilarating and safe racing experience to racers of all skill levels.
We offer many types of racing, including drop-in racing and group events like bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and corporate events. Our goal is to provide a safe, family-oriented, social environment where individuals can enjoy themselves while learning some new skills behind the wheel.
**The Opportunity**:
SPEEDERS is excited to reopen our newly renovated Richmond location. We use electric go-karts on a Multi-level racetrack, the next level of thrilling entertainment in go-kart racing. Our new facility offers many forms of exciting entertainment for all ages By using electric karts there are no exhaust fumes and no smells, making our workplace warm and clean.
**Job Purpose**
The Kitchen Manager oversees the daily operations of the kitchen staff at Speeders. This role is also responsible for overseeing food preparation, scheduling shifts, ordering supplies, and monitoring inventory. The successful Kitchen Manager is a superb communicator, exhibiting exceptional leadership and organisational skills.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Overall Responsibilities:
- Overseeing food preparation and other kitchen operations
- Supervising the kitchen staff
- Recruiting and training kitchen staff
- Inventory management
- Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas
- Ordering materials, supplies, and ingredients depending on inventory level
- Ensuring kitchen is organised and clean
- Ensuring kitchen staff complies with health and food safety standards
- Addressing complaints regarding food quality or service
- Scheduling staff shifts and assigning duties
- Managing budgets
- Establishing standards for personnel performance and customer service
- Performing other related duties
**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of experience as a kitchen manager or any related position in food service.
- HIgh school diploma or equivalent
- A degree in restaurant management or certification from culinary school is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
- Experience using restaurant related software

**Working Conditions**
- Exposure to very hot temperature
- May be exposed to safety hazards (e.g. slippery floor, hot oven, sharp objects)
- Standing for extended periods
- May require varied shifts
- Overtime and hours outside of typical working schedule may be required
