In the Office of the Vice-President Research and International, the Inclusive Research Team works to build equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous research capacity across the UWaterloo research system.

The Inclusive Research Coordinator supports the team’s multi-disciplinary projects and priorities, providing support for internal and external deliverables, and reporting on milestones and key indicators. The Inclusive Research Coordinator conducts background research, develops reports, plans events, and acts as a point of contact on Inclusive Research priorities with internal and external stakeholders. As such, the Inclusive Research Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the strategic priorities and objectives related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous research through the Inclusive Research Team are achieved.

The Inclusive Research Coordinator is responsible for identifying and disseminating education and learning opportunities, assisting the Advisors, Senior Managers, or Director in reviewing grants, organizing training, maintaining resources and coordinating support for researchers. The Inclusive Research Coordinator provides administrative support to the Senior Managers and Director, in all logístical aspects of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives such as with events, communications planning and Indigenous protocols.

The Inclusive Research Coordinator works with many types of partners, including other universities, communities, and national funding agencies. This work requires communication with all six faculties, centres and institutes, university administration, finance, Office of Research personnel, faculty, staff, and students, and externally with various community partners.

**This position is contingent on funding.**

**Responsibilities**:
Project Coordination
- Employ project management approaches to ensure that Inclusive Research strategies, events and initiatives are effectively and efficiently managed, including monitoring of information, logistics and progress, and reporting on project deliverables
- Monitors assigned project schedules and timelines and account for timely completion of objectives and key results
- Liaise with and coordinate actions with internal and external partners for strategic projects to ensure roles are clear and actions are executed effectively
- Develop key communications, reports, presentations, and other project documents as required
- Identify and manage risks associated with projects that might jeopardize the success of the methods and/or outcomes
- Employ project management skills to ensure that Inclusive Research strategies, events and initiatives are effectively and efficiently managed
- Determine and report on key indicators of success for internal and external reporting requirements
- Liaise and coordinate actions with internal and external partners for strategic projects to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear
- Develop key communications, reports, presentations, and other project documents as required
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and communication of Inclusive Research initiatives to foster a culture of inclusion and equity
- Collect and analyze EDI related data to make evidence-based decisions
- Review EDI sections of research grants for alignment with sponsor guidelines/expectations when required

Communication and relationship building
- Promote learning opportunities to the university community in a timely manner and measure uptake and impact
- Develop relationships with partners to enable effective communication when questions or concerns arise
- Assist in the organization of training sessions and research delegations
- Interact professionally with external partners, faculty members, university administrators, staff and students, and Indigenous community members
- Collaborate with the Advisors, Senior Managers, and Director, with respect to the effective implementation of the Inclusive Research Strategy
- Attend meetings with other university representatives regarding program guidelines, promising practices, review and reporting procedures and development of proposals or equity, diversity, and inclusion and Indigenous research programs
- Make and/or present presentations as required

Leadership Support
- Assist the Senior Managers or Directors in the review of grant proposals and delivery of strategic planning initiatives
