**Au sujet du poste**

Nous offrons trois opportunités de stage de 4 mois (de mai à août 2025) en science des données. En tant que stagiaire, vous travaillerez sur des problèmes d’analyse stimulants et passionnants et aurez un impact positif sur l’entreprise, tout en apprenant et en vous engageant avec une équipe mondiale d’experts et d’ingénieurs en technologie. Cela impliquera d’acquérir une expérience substantielle de travail avec nos systèmes de données pour développer des solutions de science des données de pointe pour le problème de données de notre entreprise.

**Votre contribution**

Pour réussir dans ce rôle, vous aurez besoin des éléments suivants:

- Baccalauréat ou maîtrise* complété avec succès pendant au moins 2 ans en mathématiques, statistiques, informatique, génie électrique ou dans un autre domaine quantitatif
- Excellentes compétences en analyse et en résolution de problèmes (à démontrer)
- Motivé, désireux d'apprendre et de se développer
- Excellente communication écrite et orale et capacité à travailler en équipe
- Capable d'être autonome et efficace dans l'établissement des priorités
- Intérêt à travailler en étroite collaboration avec des ingénieurs de données et d'autres scientifiques de données
- Droit de travailler au Canada
- Connaissance de Python
- Intérêt à collaborer avec des intervenants internes et externes pour comprendre la problématique commerciale
- Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste nécessitent une collaboration quotidienne avec des collègues, des équipes ou des partenaires basés à l'extérieur du Québec.
- Seuls les étudiants retournant aux études après leur stage seront considérés.

**About the**role**

We are offering 3 4-month internships (Mai to August 2025) opportunity in Data Science. As an Intern - Data Scientist, you will work with challenging and exciting analytics problems and make a positive impact to the business, while learning and engaging with a global team of technology experts and engineers. This will involve gaining substantial experience working with our data systems to develop state-of-the-art data science solutions for our business’s data problem.

**What**you’ll**bring**:
To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

- Successfully completed 2+ years in a bachelor’s or master’s degree* in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or another quantitative field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (demonstrate)
- Motivated, eager to learn and develop Excellent written and oral communication, and ability to work in a team
- Able to be autonomous and effective in establishing priorities
- Interest in working closely with data engineers and other data scientists
- Right to work in Canada
- Knowledge of Python
- Interest in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand the business problem
- Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written. Rio Tinto is a global company and the functions of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside of Quebec.
- Only students returning to school post internship will be considered.
