Position Summary
Who are we looking for?

Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time Lead, Retention Initiatives to join our team.

The worksite location for this position is flexible and can be located anywhere within British Columbia.

How will you create an impact?

The Lead, Retention Initiatives role is responsible for leading the development and coordination of multipronged retention initiatives to facilitate the achievement of the strategic goals and objectives of Interior Health (IH). The Lead will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs to build operational capacity and support retention within Interior Health. The Lead provides project management support to the Manager, Retention and proactively leads projects to resolve issues; improve process; and integrate systems that support the efficient and effective delivery of retention initiatives.

Some Key Duties may include:
Develops, implements, and monitors programs and standards to support Interior Health retention strategies; evaluates and effects changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow, and assure compliance with operational and system requirements.
Provides timely, relevant, reliable, and clear information with appropriate supporting data analyses and review of alternatives to inform planning and decision-making. This will include population, service utilization, outcomes analyses, operational and real-time data for use by internal and external partners.
Reviews planning and evaluation documents and provides appropriate information and feedback on planning documents.
Engages with cross-portfolio partners to support information system projects including managing project timelines, facilitating change management strategies, defining tasks, identifying project needs, and reporting on project status.
Develops reporting systems, including triaging and tracking systems to ensure goals and objectives are met.
Develops essential project documents (charters, schedules, product specifications, etc.) and comprehensive project plans on behalf of the project sponsor and with input from key partners.
Develops and fosters relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g., IH leadership groups, other Health Authorities, and provincial partners) to address issues related to assigned projects.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with portfolio directors, managers, IH leaders, and partners that support and advance retention goals and objectives. Leads, participates, communicates, and liaises with steering and working groups.
Completes research, reviews leading practice, and develops frameworks, systems or processes to measure and improve retention initiatives.
Assists in the preparation of briefing notes, reports, slide presentations, discussion papers and gathers, analyzes, and provides information on assigned topics.
Monitors the progress and prepares reports on key retention strategies and initiatives.
Manages projects and initiatives effectively within a multidisciplinary and complex environment using proven project management principles and methods.
Leads, coordinates and implements program development related to mentoring new Clinical Managers. Responsible for integrating the work across portfolios (e.g. Finance, Professional Practice, Quality, Human Resources, Information Management etc.) from new manager entry to role to manager leadership and competency development.
Responsible for ongoing continuous evaluation of mentoring programs for clinical managers and services, including ensuring projects/programs are data driven, evidence-informed and outcome focused. Maintains expert knowledge related to the methods and tools of continuous quality improvement and applies these approaches to areas of improvement within their respective portfolio.
Coordinates Leadership Mentor activities and processes and reports on adherence to the program design including intake, process, documentation, evaluation and coordinated enhancements.
Onboards, educates and supports new Leadership Mentors and acts as point of contact for initial escalations as needed.

Reviews data and analytics to inform enhancement of retention initiatives.
Works across the Human Resources portfolio and with key partners to create welcoming process to support an employee's life-cycle, which will including supporting the moments that matter and provide a great employee experience.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Education, Training, and Experience:
Bachelors degree in health related field; Masters preferred.
Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience working within a large, complex health organization, including two (2) years recent, related management experience in a clinical program.
Experience in program leadership, including successfully implementing programs, and change initiatives in a large, complex health organization, and experience in project and/or change management is considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to provide senior advisory services and consultation to management with experience facilitating, and influencing across a large, complex system.
Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to mentor, educate, and develop team members.
Analytical skills to translate data into action, complemented by program planning and management experience.
Strong communication skills and self-assured presence to effectively present data results and recommendations to audiences ranging from front line staff to physicians and Senior Executives.
Demonstrated ability to guide individuals and groups while maintaining psychological safety, motivation, commitment, and effectiveness.
Demonstrated ability to effectively introduce and manage change that is consistent with the vision, purpose, and operating principles of healthcare.
Ability to operate and coordinate efforts at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated understanding of IH data systems and experience in quantitative data analysis (including the collection, analysis, trending, and reporting of demographic data, utilization statistics, and survey data) and presentation of data is required.
Experience working with internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate programs.
Ability and willingness to travel.
