As the Special Poll Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service, building strong relationships, and contributing to the success of a vital democratic process. Your strong leadership skills will be the driving force behind the seamless execution of the Special Polls. Armed with exceptional customer service skills, you'll forge strong working relationships with stakeholders, navigating a high-pressure environment with legislated deadlines and evolving priorities. Your ability to thrive under pressure, coupled with your knack for creative problem-solving, will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this critical process.

In this role, you'll be the organizational linchpin, efficiently handling confidential information, creating and maintaining files, and generating reports. Your mastery of Microsoft Office products is so profound that you could offer insights to their development team. Beyond that, your leadership skills will shine as you assist with organizing and facilitating training of election workers. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will be the bedrock upon which the entire election process rests.

**Key Competencies & Qualifications**:Coordination**:
Coordinate the recruitment, training, and supervision of special poll workers.
Assist with updating the training plan for election workers.
Prepare and distribute special poll materials and equipment with precision.
Ensure compliance with election legislation and procedures.
Assist with the verification and counting of special ballots.
Assist/oversee the planning, ordering and packaging of election supplies.

**Communication**:
Monitor and report on the progress and issues related to special polls.
Updating procedures and documentation.
Have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality

**Computer/Technology Literacy**:
Operate standard audio and visual equipment for presentations and training sessions

**Organization**:
Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Excel at multi-tasking and organizing work efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail
Have a strong understanding and appreciation of urgency

**Other**:
Have confidence and can work independently, as well as part of a team, in a continually changing and time sensitive work environment

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:
Office administration/secretarial certificate or a diploma or certificates in Public, Business or Office Administration from an approved school/college.
(5) years or more of progressively responsible experience in an office environment performing senior administrative support functions of which at least two (2) must be in a senior secretarial and supervisory position
A minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
The ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
The ability to be courteous and tactful with all customers and stakeholders.
Considerable depth and breadth of related administration experience.
