**Position Description / Area Description**:
The Mawji Centre for New Venture and Student Entrepreneurship (Mawji Centre) is housed within the JR Shaw School of Business at NAIT. The Mawji Centre provides entrepreneurship support for all NAIT students through innovative and experiential programs.

The Lead Entrepreneurship Consultant leads the Entrepreneurship Blue Book program to support entrepreneurs as they progress from "I have an idea" to "I am ready to launch." The Lead Entrepreneurship Consultant will screen students for admission into this program, take the lead in delivering the program, mentor students, and help promote its success both internally and externally. This position will also work closely with the Mawji Centre Coordinator in delivering programming that aligns and supports the Entrepreneurship Blue Book program.

NAIT is a flexible workplace and depending on the nature of your role, you may request flexible work arrangements with respect to where and when you work, including being on-campus full-time, working off-site, or a combination of the two. This position will allow for a maximum of one to two days per week of remote work with the remainder being on campus.

**Key Responsibilities**:
This position works closely with the Mawji Centre Coordinator but focuses on the planning, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of the Entrepreneurship Blue Book program; and other programming to help students start or grow a business.

Key breakdown of duties:
1. Provides leadership in supervising, developing, and implementing entrepreneurship programming to existing and potential students (80%)
- Direct and support students as needed. Acts as a liaison to bring partners to the Mawji Centre and mentor students
- Manage student initiatives and ensure key internal and external relationships are consistently being strengthened
- Develop and implement program/event strategies for the centre to meet students need from across all schools
- Working closely with other post secondaries and external partners to deploy programs and event strategies

2. Support Initiatives and Operations of the Mawji Centre (20%)
- Support administrative work plan to ensure day-to-day efficiencies of the centre
- Work closely with the Mawji Centre Coordinator to prepare related programs and promotions to ensure student retention.
- Adhere to all organization policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are well communicated and implemented within the team.

- Connection to the business community in Edmonton.
- Ability to build relationships naturally, and bring people of mutual interest
- Familiarity and proficiency with the Leanstack process
- Familiarity and proficiency with testing business models

**Qualifications**:

- A diploma in business (experience equivalencies will be considered)
- The following, or a combination of the following, are considered an asset:

- 5 years of experience working with clients on new business start-ups
- Experience developing technological or disruptive companies
- Experience developing new entrepreneurial programming and courses
- Familiarity with different regulations, licensing and taxation rules affecting new businesses
- A keen knowledge of the startup ecosystem in Edmonton including resources to expand or establish a business and grants or funding
- Knowledge and/or experience in the post-secondary education sector
- Experience working with newcomers to Canada
- Experience with helping indigenous entrepreneurs start businesses on and off reserve

**Remuneration**:$2,660.87 - $3,569.36 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification Advisor/Specialist II)
- This position is covered by the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement._
