Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for leading the development of the provincial Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.

The Ministry designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

**Role Responsibilities**:
As the Recycled Furniture Program Supervisor, you will play a crucial role within the Government of Alberta's Furniture Management Program overseeing the provision of quality used furniture to government entities. You will have a pivotal role in achieving significant cost savings and advancing environmental sustainability goals by efficiently managing the acquisition, cataloging, and assessment of furniture components. In collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and clients, you will maintain high standards for inventory management, conducting site visits and cost analyses to ensure optimal procurement decisions.

You will work in conjunction with Furniture Coordinators to collaborate on best use of product utilizing their expertise on the mechanics of how the furniture works and can be used together.

Supervising a team, you will oversee planning, coordination, and operational functions related to recycled furniture, facilitating cost-effective procurement and sustainable practices across government.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Effective management of recycled furniture inventory and processes to ensure program goals are achieved and requirements of clients and stakeholders are met:

- Develop, implement, and maintain processes for managing the inventory tracking system (SnapTracker) with regular reviews to ensure it remains relevant and meets program requirements.
- Assess the suitability of furniture products and components for inclusion in the inventory, exercising discretion to decline items that do not meet program standards or requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analyses to evaluate financial implications to acquiring, transporting, and maintaining products to optimize resource allocation and budgetary efficiency.
- Communicating, reporting and training:

- Provide training and consultation to internal and external stakeholders to enhance understanding and utilization of program resources.
- Develop insightful reports for senior management, providing valuable insights and data to inform strategic decision-making processes.
- Strategically forecast product purchases of supplemental furniture components to support planning and budgeting initiatives.
- Planning and coordination of furniture decant projects to ensure that good quality furniture meeting GOA furniture standards is brought into the program for re-use:

- Strategically plan and organize the receipt of incoming furniture deliveries, optimizing workloads and labour resources for efficient operations. Supervision and coaching of Recycled Furniture Program staff to provide for the smooth functioning of the program, foster a positive work environment and contribute to the achievement of the program goals.To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- Related two-year technical diploma (e.g., Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business), supplemented by at least six (6) years of related experience in furniture procurement
- A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
- Inventory warehousing and management experience

Assets:

- Supervisory experience
- Strong business planning skills
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Knowledge of direct purchase regulations

Equivalencies are:
A related four-year degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience; a related one-year certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; or a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
