The Team Leader is responsible for high-quality program delivery and ensuring effective daily site service. This includes direct supervision of site staff, assisting in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, and administrative functions. The Team Leader ensures achievement of program goals as well as establishment and nurturing of effective working relationships within the program, the Association, and the community. The Team Leader will provide leadership to staff to ensure contractual obligations are met, and support the year round operation of various programs, services and activities.
**In this role, you will**:
- Provide training, coaching, and feedback to the team to support their development and engagement.
- Develop and ensure compliance with program and site policies and procedures relevant to high-quality service delivery.
- Achieve youth employment goals by maintaining a mínimal caseload.
- Recruit employers and seek out youth job placement opportunities actively.
- Regularly track, evaluate, and report on the program's progress.
- Assist supervisor and other team leaders in recruiting and hiring, as well as coordinating internal and external trainings.
- Implement and evaluate an annual operations plan, consistent with YMCA policies and procedures, to achieve strategic results.
- Engage with staff and external stakeholders actively to identify and address trends, gaps, and opportunities.
- Assist Manager with HR, operational, and policy issues; handle employer and member concerns with sensitivity.
- Participate in volunteer supervision, staff meetings, and professional development trainings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**You bring**:
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Experience working with youth and Employers
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity an asset
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills, ability to establish rapport, and excellent communication with staff, clients, and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Flexibility regarding assigned work hours and locations
- Must be able to work evening shifts and, if required, Saturday and Sunday shifts
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to work in an efficient manner both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
