**The Opportunity**:
The Reproductive Care Program of Nova Scotia is a provincial program of the IWK Health Centre. Program staff works with provincial colleagues to establish and monitor standards of care and conduct surveillance. The Program acts in an advisory capacity to the health system and plays a major role in quality activities for the Program’s population of interest, childbearing women and infants.

Reporting to the Manager of the Reproductive Care Program of Nova Scotia, the Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the smooth running of the Nova Scotia Atlee Perinatal Database (NSAPD) and the Rh Program Database (both provincial programs of the IWK). The Database Administrator also has responsibility for database functioning for several other clinical databases at the IWK.

**Hours of Work**:
37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday

**Your Qualifications**:

- Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics required or an undergraduate degree and a relevant technical program
- Minimum of three (3) years Oracle DBA experience required, five (5) years preferred
- Oracle Database Administrator certification an asset
- Experience with Apex/.NET an asset
- Demonstrated experience in PL/SQL programming
- Weblogic administration experience, particularly with Oracle Forms and Reports
- Good organizational, analytical and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Must communicate effectively at a technical and user/client level, both in writing and verbally
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues
- Must be able to interpret verbal and written data
- Must be able to work and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Competencies in other languages an asset
