**Course Description**:_Cells and Biomolecules: An Introduction_ is a new TYP course, designed to introduce students to the key information on basic cellular structures and biological molecules including deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), ribonucleic acids (RNA), proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. This is essential information that will help students understand the biological mechanisms associated with evolution and biodiversification. The preliminary knowledge gained will also serve to deliver key principles used in the Molecular and Cell Biology field.

**Duties**:
Your duties as governed by Article 7:03 of the Collective Agreement between the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 3902 Unit 3 will include:

- Preparation of a 6-week (May 8 - June 19) course outline for TYP021 -_ Cells and Biomolecules: An Introduction._
- Preparation and presentation of course materials for workshops and individual tutorials to help students succeed in academic writing including time management, note-taking, study skills, preparation for writing, dealing with the stresses and complications of academic writing.
- Evaluating attendance and course participation for teaching TYP021 -_ Cells and Biomolecules: An Introduction._
- Attending regularly scheduled faculty meetings.
- Submitting marks for assessments associated with TYP021 - _Cells and Biomolecules: An Introduction._

**Salary**:Sessional Lecturer I Salary - $9,182.42 plus 4% vacation pay

**Estimated Course Enrolment**:20

**Sessional Dates**:The course will be offered over the first half of the Summer term. The course will begin in May 8 and end in June 19, 2023.

**Class Schedule**:Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 pm - 2 pm
