**About the Role**

We are looking to hire an operations manager to take our execution of our organization's vision to the next level. The operations manager will encourage operational efficiency, respond to and resolve daily issues, engage with the youth we serve and their families, and guard our values. You will develop and monitor key performance indicators, analyze data and metrics to evaluate staff performance, lead and encourage employees to maximize performance, and ensure a strong talent pipeline. You will collaborate with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Artistic Director to create and implement business plans for key management and supervisors and advance cohesion between various internal departments.

**About the Organization**

Our client is a community music and orchestra-training organization serving elementary through post-secondary-aged youth and has been running continuously since 2002. Our mission is to combine accessibility with a pursuit of excellence in our orchestral experiences and training. No child is denied music participation because of restricted financial means. Our instrument-lending library ensures children have quality instruments with which to learn. Our client employs professional instrumental teaching artists and performers, hosts public education events, advocates for the Arts, and promotes social innovation partnerships that tie music learning and performance to community-building initiatives.

We aim to give our members a life-long love of music, while also helping them develop self-esteem, discipline, teamwork, leadership, performance skills, and a strong connection to their community through music. Our client currently runs three ensembles - one for new musicians, an Intermediate group, and a Senior youth orchestra for developing and experienced instrumentalists. Since September 2021, the organization has also run a downtown subsidized music program, which is an after-school ensemble instruction program for children, aged 6-18 years, facing pronounced socio-economic barriers. The program runs three afternoons a week and provides a daily nutritious mini-meal, a safe landing place for guided positive social interaction and leadership development, 1:1 attention and role modelling from caring adults, and skill development through ensemble instrumental music instruction.

**Responsibilities**
- Playing a leading role in compiling budget and growth strategy.
- Executing strategies to optimize company and asset growth.
- Ensuring expertise and effectiveness across operating platforms.
- Creating strategies to improve logistics and program implementation, and designing initiatives to reduce operating costs.
- Ensuring positive first contact and accurate communication of program information to new recruits (parents/youth)
- Negotiating fees and bursaries in accordance with organizational policies and values
- Providing social support and information on community services to youth with special needs
- Creating monthly financial reports for presentation to the Executive Director.
- Project management of organization-wide initiatives.
- Managing money handling, accounting, and bank processes.
- Driving employees and leading performance reviews, to ensure an engaged and skilled workforce. (People management of a team of 10-20 individuals in various roles, including hiring, performance reviews, benefits monitoring and human resources maintenance.)
- Collaborating with leadership to build an environment of collective responsibility, accessibility, and individual accountability.
- Ensuring adherence to key performance objectives to meet business and stakeholder expectations.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 20-25 per week

**Salary**: $30.00 per hour
