**About Us**:
ASPirE offers Additional Qualification (AQ) courses specifically designed for certified teachers and focus on the Ontario education curriculum. We offer professional development courses, certificates and workshops that leverage expertise in a variety of fields to help teachers upgrade their skills, expand their knowledge and advance their careers. ASPirE is responsible for the smooth delivery of over 100 Additional Qualifications (AQ) courses to in-service teachers, locally, nationally and internationally.

**Responsibilities**:
The Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient administration of Additional Qualifications courses (AQ), Certificates, and components of the ASPirE program, ensuring adherence to program, university, OCT (Ontario College of Teachers), and ministry standards. The role will provide a first point of contact for inquiries and provide information to in-service teachers regarding our courses and certificates. The role will also liaise with Teachers, Superintendents, Principals, and school board personnel in Ontario school boards related to AQ’s and certificates. The role will contribute to the ongoing refinement of program processes; create, maintain and update specialized departmental databases; generate data and reports for review; coordinate logistics for special recruitment and marketing events; and process the financial reconciliation of course registrations.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- 3 year community college diploma Business Administration
- Bachelor of Education preferred
- Experience:
- 4 years’ experience providing administrative support and customer service; preferably in an academic setting
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to work independently and follow through on work assignments
- Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
- Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve external and internal partner issues
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
