We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Controller to join our team at Parkway Motors Hamilton. This is a key leadership role that requires strong management skills and the ability to oversee the accounting department. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer you will complete all month end reporting, oversee all daily accounting and provide assistance to the Payroll Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee day-to-day operations of the dealership's accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze variances to budget and prior periods.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting, working closely with department managers to optimize financial performance.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise accounting staff, providing leadership, training, and performance feedback.
- Complete monthly remittances and filings for HST, RST, WSIB, and EHT
- Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger schedules
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in Automotive Accounting.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- ** Minimum 3 years of Automotive Accounting experience mandatory. Controller experience preferred.**
- Previous experience in a Controller or similar leadership role preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- ** Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.**
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience with **PBS is a definite asse**t.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
