Linc Program Teacher Assistant

This is a temporary 9 week position
**Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Work directly with LINC Program Manager as an Executive Assisting supporting on budget projects, research, planning and cash flow projections.
- Participate in professional development sessions and actively utilize information to enhance personal teaching skills. Support special project events and the accreditation project pertain the Language Training program.
- Plan settlement-related themes and activities for conversations classes. Coordinate the schedule for volunteers to ensure the conversation clubs are run smoothly. Supporting the LINC Coordinator
- Provide basic computer skills training and support to individual students who need assistance with completing assignments in Google Classroom. Supporting the Digital Navigator during student orientations.
- Assist language instructors to find useful learning resources for students. Modifying printed materials to fit an online environment, such as creating fillable word documents, creating interactive ppt.
- Provide basic reading and writing skills training and support to individual students who need assistance in strengthening their reading and writing skills, guided by PBLA Lead, LINC Coordinator, LINC Instructor and LINC Program Manager.
- Support the Special Events Coordinator on the Programing, scheduling, Team leaders and Support Team members and volunteers’ coordination.
- Support and work closely with Special Events Coordinator and LINC Program Manager to coordinate and support the ASSIST Taste of Heritage Festival.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Business or Management, Education, or ESL preferred.
- Ability to facilitate group discussions
- Ability to resolve problems using process management
- Sensitivity to diverse cultural values and individual experiences
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and to work collaboratively with others
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective writing skills
- Excellent command of English. Additional languages are considered an asset.
ASSIST offers a flexible and supportive working environment. Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search is a condition of employment.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
