**About ASSIST**:ASSIST Community Services Centre has provided settlement support to newcomers since 1977. Our Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program is a federally funded program providing immigrants and refugees with the English language and cultural skills necessary for life in Canada. We offer a variety of full-time and part-time classes in downtown and southwest Edmonton. We strongly value a diverse and multilingual workforce. **This position reports to the LINC Intake Coordinator and LINC Program Manager.**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Register and place students in classes or on waiting lists using in-house and government database systems (iCARE, Excel, Access, iStedy) on a continuous intake basis
- Collect appropriate personal information to verify if students are eligible for LINC
- Follow FOIP guidelines, maintaining clients’ privacy.
- Establish and maintain all student files
- Flexibility on schedule, (until 7:30 pm) up to twice per month, when needed and sometimes one Saturday per month.
- Keep and monitor attendance records; calculate attendance statistics and generate reports; enter attendance information and other records into iCARE
- Provide data reports as appropriate, as requested by management and funders
- Ensure smooth transition of class and student records between semesters
- Prepare confirmation letters of attendance for students
- Provide new and potential students with information about the program
- Prepare promotional and informational materials for the website and public
- Support instructors with equipment and room set-up for special events
- Support inventory of LINC program equipment, and supplies
- Coordinate with other Intake & Support workers to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Work with management to identify issues and solutions
- Creation and collection of date to measure outcomes, including spreadsheet with stats and charts.
- Position one to assist and work closely as an EA to the LINC Program Manager, including agenda and appointment scheduling, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience required.
- Specialization in administrative studies, office technology, or other related fields preferred.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferred
- Good command of spoken and written English;
- Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, Spanish, Portuguese languages will be an asset and preferred.
- Additional languages will be an asset.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, Canvas, Adobe, PDF, creating fillable forms)
- Familiarity with creating queries and reports in iSTEDY an asset
- Experience with iSTEDY software an asset.
- Able to quickly learn new computer skills.
- Experience with multi-cultural clientele, especially those with limited English skills
- Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently without supervision and contribute to a team
- Highly organized, with exceptional time-management, decision-making, and prioritization skills
- Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including Teams.
- First-aid training certificate required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
