**Project Cost Control Specialist will manage the project costs for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and other Projects. The Project Cost Control Specialist will report to the Director of Project Finance and work hand in hand with the project managers, project coordinators, planners, procurement, Finance and others. The position will have responsibility for all cost control activities, from project inception to close out.**:
**_Duties/Responsibilities:_**:

- Manage budgets, expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and cashflows for BESS projects
- Develop and publish monthly cost reports
- Facilitate project cost review sessions with the project management team and executive leadership
- Participate in the review of invoices for contact compliance and proper accounting coding
- Monitor and incorporate the impacts of changes, issues and risks into the cost forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of forecast costs for change management and manage the impact to Project Budget and Forecast at Completion
- Collaborate with finance to reconcile monthly expenditures as needed and ensure invoices are developed in alignment with complex contractual requirements
- Collaborate with procurement as needed to assure project purchases are correctly reflecting in Cost Reports, Cost Forecasting and NetSuite
- Incorporate Baseline Schedule information (Internal resource Use, Forecast Equipment payments, Milestone payments, etc.) into the Initial Project Cashflow to assure synchronicity at Project Start and maintenance though project life cycle
- Interacting with Project Scheduling to assure Cash Flow forecast are reconciled to the project schedule
- Act as an ambassador for all project controls functions and encourage the project management team members to consistently utilize the proper forms and templates
- Develop ad-hoc reports and presentation as needed
- Identify opportunities for improvement and initiate process improvement efforts
- Mentor and train junior team members

**_Required Skills/Abilities:_**:

- Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects and/or activities
- Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to contribute to an amicable working environment with other associates and employees

**_Education and Experience:_**:

- Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, business administration, mechanical, civil, or electrical technology and a basic working knowledge of cost accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or College
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in cost control or project controls
- Experience in the battery energy storage / solar / wind or construction experience a plus
- Excellent MS Offices skills, specifically MS Excel
- Familiarity with ProCore and/or NetSuite preferred
