OVERVIEW_
Reporting directly to Kruger Inc.'s Senior Director, Technical Support, the **Manager**, Technical Support Mechanical provides technical support to Kruger's operations, supporting the business units with continuous improvement, asset management, major project development.
The incumbent** **implements appropriate strategies to ensure optimum processes are utilized and that the company’s critical assets are managed in a proactive manner. This position is also responsible for identifying and facilitating the transfer of holistic asset management practices and lessons learned to sites with the goal of maximizing value.
- RESPONSIBILITIES_
- Embedded within a manufacturing site, support all operating sites to ensure the company's critical assets are managed to an optimum standard.
- Provide asset management guidance as well as technical support to divisional reliability and maintenance personnel. Coaching and developing expertise at each site.
- Responsible for establishing guiding principles to critical asset management and providing input on technical standards.
- Support the risk reduction program of Kruger's insurance team, providing technical oversight to critique and align with the business units and the insurance provider.
- Develop and sustain appropriate tools and platforms to guide business units and sites in asset management journey (Kruger Way, Center of Excellence, monthly team meetings, annual enterprise conferences, etc.).
- Responsible for the development and implementation of effective strategies for asset management at an optimum value.
- Collaborate and contribute to the development of continuous improvement projects focused on generating increased asset uptime, reduced operating costs, and improved energy efficiency.
- Complete facility health checks and inspection reports related to asset management, continuous improvement, and benchmarking.
- Responsible for auditing and analyzing data to identify risks, asset performance, and opportunities in reliability, maintenance, and asset management for the entire organization.
- Representative of Asset Care and Reliability for Kruger Way.
- Support the Corporate Engineering team, providing technical input for project development and occasional assistance with project execution.
- GENERAL EDUCATION_
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Formal certification in asset management, reliability, or maintenance management (an asset)
- EXPERIENCE_
- 7 to 10 years of experience in technical management in the industrial sector, with solid achievements in delivering asset improvement. Knowledge of the pulp and paper sector is critical.
- Demonstrated mastery of issues and solutions ensuring effective management of critical assets.
- Established competency in data analysis and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated project management ability is an asset.
- Ability to work with multiple levels within the organization both as a leader and individual contributor.
- SKILLS AND APPTITUDES_
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes across all production operations.
- Expertise in holistic asset management, aligned with ISO 55000.
- Strong process knowledge of paper making and converting operations with continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in process optimization and asset management with a strong ground in asset benchmarking.
- Autonomy, business sense, resourcefulness, analytical and synthesis skills.
- Positive communication and influence skills to present positions convincingly to reach consensus among colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple files at the same time while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Available to travel through the various sites of the company when required - anticipated 30% travel.
