**Overview**:
The Supervisor of Buildings and Maintenance is responsible for 22 facilities which include houses, apartment buildings, shelters, corporate offices, and ancillary program delivery buildings. This position is also responsible for the supervision of four maintenance and cleaning staff.

**Description**:
The Supervisor of Buildings and Maintenance will:

- Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department
- Coordinate and hold accountable work performed by outside vendors
- Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates
- Prioritize maintenance and repairs
- Control and monitor inventory
- Ensure that all vehicles are cleaned, fueled and in proper working order
- Implement safety policies and procedures for the department
- Chairs Maintenance Meetings

**Required skills and Knowledge**:

- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and construction requirements and systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with vulnerable populations and difficult personalities
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Other responsibilities as assigned

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma / Degree in a related field required or sufficient experiential experience.
- 5+ years experience in maintenance supervisory role
- Able to lift 50lbs and be hands-on if required
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- WHMIS and Workplace Safety Certificates. First Aid/CPR Certification
- Valid Driver’s License and insurability

**Hours of Work and Benefits**:

- 35hrs with rotating On-Call evenings and weekends
