**_Duties and Responsibilities: _**

In general, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of Community Living Kingston and District’s properties. This includes both interior and exterior maintenance as well as grounds keeping and some cleaning duties.

Additional responsibilities include:

- Maintaining buildings, properties, furnishings, supplies, and equipment in safe working condition.
- Performing routine property maintenance, such as carpentry, painting, tile, and drywall repair, and grounds keeping, such as landscape maintenance, mowing and snow removal.
- Completing minor property repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems such as heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing.

**_Preferred Skills and Qualifications: _**
- An Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. However, a Certificate of Qualification in a trade or 3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance is a desired qualification for this position.
- Values that match the goals and mission of Community Living Kingston and District;
- Well organized, with the ability to manage time within busy program environments;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the need to interact with persons served, families, staff, contractors, and tradespeople on a regular basis;
- Maintenance Technician work is physically demanding and requires significant physical work, including dexterity to safely use hand tools and basic power tools to perform routine maintenance on buildings and related equipment;
- Proven track record of exercising mature judgment;
- A valid full G driver’s license is a requirement to be considered for this position. The successful applicant will also need to be able to drive a snow plow attached to the agency vehicle.

**_Hours of Work: _**

This position is mostly days, Monday to Friday, though some evening or weekend hours may occur as warranted.

This position may be scheduled to work on-call for snow removal purposes, consistent with provisions in the Collective Agreement.

**_Salary and Benefits: _**
- The current starting salary for this position is set at $41,052 per year, as per the Collective Agreement (increases as seniority accrued).
- Employer-matched RRSP contributions.
- Three weeks annual vacation (increases as seniority is accrued).
- Benefits plan (drug, extended health) upon completion of probationary period.
- Accrued paid sick time.
