**About Us**

All Things Speech Inc. is a pediatric speech therapy practice in South Burnaby, BC, operating as part of Lifelong Health Ltd., which opened in July 2023. The aim of the practice is to provide individualized and functional support to children and their families for various speech and language difficulties. Working together with clients and their families to set their communication goals and then work towards them is of utmost importance. All Things Speech is a neurodiversity-affirming practice - we strive to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all of our clients and their families.

We are seeking at least one **Inclusive Communication Assistant** to join our team. This new role emphasizes creating supportive, inclusive environments to help young children succeed in everyday interactions and prevent challenges that might lead to exclusion from group settings. Collaboration with SLPs, daycare staff, and families is integral to this position, ensuring holistic and affirming support tailored to each child’s needs.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide 1:1 support to neurodivergent preschoolers and young children in daycare or community settings.
- Implement individualized communication strategies developed by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to support speech and language goals.
- Foster inclusion by assisting children with social communication and engagement in group activities.
- Collaborate with SLPs, daycare staff, and families to ensure consistent, child-centered care.
- Support emotional regulation related to communication challenges.
- Encourage the development of functional communication skills to prevent exclusion from group settings.
- Document and communicate progress to the supervising SLP and team.

**What We’re Looking For**

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated individual who:

- Has experience working with young neurodiverse children (preferred).
- Is comfortable working in community settings and collaborating with other professionals.
- Demonstrates a commitment to inclusive, child-centered therapy approaches.
- Is willing to learn and implement neurodiversity-affirming strategies (training will be provided).

Educational background or certifications are not required; however, relevant experience in speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, education, and/or child development is an asset.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
