**Summary**:
Within the context of a patient, client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Systems, the HR Systems Analyst 1 supports Providence Health Care Human Resource initiatives by gathering and translating business requirements into functional formats. The HR Systems Analyst 1 performs technical research work, prepares papers, reports on the various issues and advises the Manager, HR Systems. The position performs specialized activity on the gathering, development, analysis and interpretation of various statistical and demographic data relevant to initiatives, planning, documentation, system testing, configuration, research & user surveys as well as post implementation support ticketing and issue resolution services. Works with HR users and clients to troubleshoot system problems and address technical issues. Ensures accurate reporting, data integration and data integrity through the development, testing, and maintenance of system solutions in support to operations.
The HR Systems Analyst 1 communicates business directives, goals and needs and makes recommendations related to technical strategies by learning specific business processes applied by operations, and suggesting system or process enhancements. Applies research methods, process analysis, documentation, and system diagrams to and consults with Manager, Human Resources Systems on the development of procedures and format guidelines for new projects and assignments. The position works in collaboration with internal stakeholders, liaises with external stakeholders as required, and provides advice and system recommendations to business area team members and other corporate department stakeholders.
**Qualifications / Skills and Education**:
Education
Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science (statistical background) or related program, completion of Microsoft Office and HR Systems courses is required, plus three to five (3-5) years' recent, related experience in data analysis, trending, benchmarking and reporting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to provide client focused services.
Strong mathematical and statistical analytical abilities to analyze information and identify trends.
Strong working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including ASP.Net.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access Application development.
Demonstrated attention to detail, diligence and care when gathering, maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing employment data.
Strong critical thinking, evaluation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the reporting and presentation of information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Collects and translates business requirements into functional specification and detailed test plans. Prepares documentation such as Use Cases, Business Rules, User Interface Specifications, Data Interface Specifications, etc.
Consults with and serves as an interface with integrated systems to ensure product awareness is thoroughly understood. Works closely with clients to understand unique processes and identify existing gaps between product functionality and client business needs based on use case definition, evaluation and analysis.
Works closely with stakeholders in other corporate departments in issue resolution, testing and ensuring ongoing business process improvement.
Conducts technical research work in support of workforce planning initiatives by gathering, developing, analyzing and interpreting statistical and demographic data related to workforce planning, research studies, surveys and general matters of this nature.
Plans and designs the collection of data and the structure of computer databases to support decision-making and evaluation.
