Located in the heart of Little Italy in Toronto, we are committed to facilitating cultural engagement and creative expression by offering a platform for film screenings, festivals, live shows, conferences, and project sound mixing through our state-of-the-art mixing facility.

Our quirky lobby adds to the charm, doubling as a bottle shop during the day and a concession stand offering limited edition and exotic snacks during events.

Operated by our neighbor and partner Birreria Volo, the lobby space adds to the unique experience of attending an event at the Royal Theatre. Our mission is to foster a sense of community and collaboration among artists and audiences alike, while promoting a love and appreciation for the arts.

**Position Overview**:
As a Venue Supervisor at the Royal Theatre, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all events and performances within our esteemed venue. You will oversee day-to-day activities, manage staff, and uphold the highest standards of customer service to ensure an unforgettable experience for patrons and performers alike.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and execute a wide array of events, including live performances, screenings, private functions, and community gatherings.
- Supervise a team of venue staff, including ushers, ticketing agents, security personnel, ensuring proper training and performance management to maintain a professional and efficient workforce.
- Foster a welcoming and hospitable environment for patrons, artists, and guests, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors to the venue.
- Manage the marquee letters and ensuring they are updated accurately and in a timely manner to reflect upcoming events and performances.
- Oversee all aspects of safety protocols to guarantee the smooth execution of events and the preservation of the venue’s infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements pertaining to venue operations, health and safety standards, and accessibility guidelines.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in venue management, event coordination, or related fields, with demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of success in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including patrons, artists, vendors, and staff.
- Proven ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently, demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability in addressing unexpected challenges.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and professionalism in all aspects of venue operations.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for working in a team-oriented environment, fostering a positive and inclusive culture among staff and stakeholders.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
