Internal Communications Specialist

Our team is searching for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our People & Culture team in Halifax, NS. As the Internal Communications Specialist, you will be accountable for developing our employee experience communications strategy and to communicate ‘People & Culture’ related engagement opportunities to the Eastlink team. Our objective is to keep our employees engaged and informed on what matters most You have the ability to work in a flexible environment, with a combination of time spent in the office and at home.

What You Can Expect
- Management of internal communications channels and design effective communications for internal stakeholders, as well as support key People & Culture programs and strategies
- Coordinate employee communication messaging that is reflective of our values, promotes diversity and inclusion, and is aligned with strategic business direction and goals
- Develop timely and consistent communications as required and respond to emerging opportunities
- Write, produce, and distribute scheduled corporate communications and support other communication priorities
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to develop communications for corporate and business-led initiatives to keep internal employees informed
- Support the development of project-related communication plans through participation on employee experience working committees
- Create exciting communications for employee experience related initiatives
- Maintain and update a communications strategy, along with policies and practices for posting on our internal Intranet
- Support our Talent Acquisition team with online advertising efforts (i.e., social media) as well as in the creation of print ads
- Provide guidance on communications best practices and identify tactics, tools, and mediums to effectively convey key messages
- You will employ appropriate techniques to measure the effectiveness of internal communications
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with your team members and partners
What You Will Bring Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree such as Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with progressive levels of responsibility within a communications environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with social media management an asset
- Experience in policy development an asset
