Our Immigrant Services department has been providing settlement services for over 25 years both in HRM and in smaller centres through our YMCA settlement and language programs across the province and through our mission to “Build healthy communities through the power of belonging”.

**The Opportunity**

As part of YMCA Immigrant Services team, the Smaller Centre Supervisor provides dynamic and innovative leadership to the coordination and delivery of multiple settlement program areas in smaller centres across the province. Using effective and innovative team and project management strategies the Supervisor fulfills a critical role in establishing and executing operational best practices to ensure that staff and volunteers working with newcomer clients in our community are delivering the highest quality programming. This YMCA Leader must possess a passion for community development, and have a vision and appreciation for best practices in quality programming and the skills necessary to unite teams to execute on a plan of operational excellence. This position will also be instrumental in relationship building with ethno-specific organizations to look at ways for improved collaboration in supporting the diversity of our communities.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise and support a team of program coordinators through providing effective guidance to support their work by providing training, process improvements, performance management, and feedback; as well a developing, maintaining, and implementing effective communication processes within the group
- Monitor program delivery to achieve high standards, within a client focused environment
- Utilize and enhance mechanisms for collecting quantitative and qualitative data for continuous improvement and demonstrate impact of outcome achievement
- Execute on consistent program delivery practices and standards and mechanisms for effective collaboration across teams to plan, resource and deliver a suite of programs and services
- Share best practices and approaches to delivery while motivate a team of Leaders fostering their growth in leading programs and services
- Strategic development of both established and novel programs - assessing areas of growth and opportunity
- Integrate and streamline resources, information, and practices across program areas
- Act as the point of contact, communication, and profiling for this area of programming
- Cultivate, grow, and steward key stakeholder relationships that encourages and supports community collaboration with like-minded organizations and groups
- Monitor and recommend program and operational improvements, and identify strategies to increase the quality and effectiveness of services provided

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Post secondary degree in a related discipline and at least 3 to 5 years of related experience, including recent experience supervising diverse teams, and day to day operations
- Proven success and skills in delivering and supervising community focused, outcomes-based programs and services in multiple locations and sites
- Extensive settlement sector knowledge, and experience working with newcomers, immigrants and refugees
- A proven track record of effective staff leadership with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting supportive, positive approaches and ability to manage conflict and collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting, resource development, and relationship building
- Demonstrated commitment to program quality, best practices and standardized approaches to program delivery
- Demonstrated initiative to grow and expand programs through innovation and partnerships
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated experience in developing, organizing and facilitating workshops
- Knowledge and in-depth understanding of GBA+, intercultural skills and the ability to articulate and foster the development of this in others
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and online delivery platforms
- Experience designing, implementing and evaluating programs or projects
- Excellent outreach, networking and community partnership development skills
- Strong time management, organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines, targets and tasks
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgement in the handling of confidential information; this includes a high degree of integrity and trust
