At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. To support our Occupational Health Department, Sinai Health System is looking for an Abilities Coordinator for a 12 months temporary full-time contract.

As an integral member of the Occupational Health Department, the Abilities Coordinator employs the principles of integrated disability management to actively manage employee cases during periods of disability and facilitate transitional, temporary, and/or permanent modified work or accommodation programs.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage of a large portfolio non-occupational and occupational illness/injury cases from short term disability to long term disability or throughout the entire WSIB process as applicable.
- Take a proactive approach to facilitating the return to work process as per best practices in disability management and in accordance with applicable legislation, corporate policies, and collective agreements.
- Take a leadership role in case management and the return to work process; provide direction and communicate effectively with key stakeholders; work in collaboration with employees, managers, union representatives, human resources, WSIB, health care practitioners, long term disability insurance providers, and others to provide ongoing support and build positive relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of employee health information at all times. Comply with all other hospital policies.
- Support the daily operation of the Occupational Health department and complete other duties as assigned consistent with the job classification.
- Job Requirements- Strong disability management experience (minimum one to two years direct experience in a Disability/Abilities Case Management position); hospital experience preferred
- University degree in a health-related field (e.g., nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Occupational Health Nursing or Disability Management certification is an asset
- Proven expertise in applicable legislation and disability management best practices
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; able to make evidence-based decisions
- Customer service focus; ability to demonstrate empathy with excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage complex cases and to prioritize work tasks with strong attention to detail
