Columbia College is looking for **Sessional **English** **Instructors** to teach** the following courses **in our University Transfer Program on campus.
- ***_Second half of the semester:_
- **
ENGLISH 100: Language and Composition, section (72H) - **Monday and Thursday from 12:00 to 13:55 and Wednesday Flex.
- **
ENGLISH 100: Language and Composition, section (14H) - **Monday and Thursday from 14:00 to 15:55 and Wednesday Flex.
- **
ENG 108, Introduction to Literary Non-Fiction, section (081) - **Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 to 9:55.
- **
ENGLISH 100: Language and Composition, section (101H) - **Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:55 and Friday Flex.
- These part-time sessional positions will commence on **June 24, 2024, **and end in** August 2024.**
Key Responsibilities
The Instructor's primary responsibilities include planning, teaching, marking, and grading the appointed course/s.
- **Master's degree in English Literature**.
- **
Credentials (CELTA, TESL, or TESOL certificate) and experience teaching ESL courses**.**:
- A minimum of two years of experience teaching English at another post-secondary institution.
- Excellent expertise with Learning Management Systems (Knowledge and experience with Moodle is an asset).
- Demonstrated success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in teaching a diverse student body.
Compensation
We offer the following competitive compensation:
For an English 100 course (5 contact hours + 2 office hours), we offer a gross salary of **$10,278.15** for a Master's degree holder and **$11,471.98** for a Ph.D. holder.
For an English 108 course (4 contact hours + 2 office hours), we offer a gross salary of **$8,809.84** for a Master's degree holder and **$9,833.12** for a Ph.D. holder.
The course compensation is linked to teaching hours.
