The Academic Advising & Career Centre (AA&CC) embraces a holistic philosophy in its delivery of integrated academic advising, learning skills, career development and employment coaching services to students. **Your opportunity**:
You will work under the direction of the Director, Academic Advising and Career Support Services and will be responsible for developing overall project designs, implementing various project phases and maintaining quality control standards for a multitude of emerging projects.

As the Special Projects Lead, you will be responsible for project management and implementation to ensure the work of the Academic Advising and Career Centre (AA&CC) can be carried out efficiently and effectively. Such project management and implementation includes:
Formulating new collaborations, which complement the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) campus initiatives, including consultative partnerships, building processes, scoping out needs for program enhancement, presenting and reporting;
Ensuring all AA&CC programming has appropriate learning outcomes, which includes working with Team Leads to ensure programming is aligned to student success measures and retention through the use of appropriate survey and data collection methodologies;
Developing areas of connection and collaboration for exploring systems support for the AA&CC;
You will build and strengthen relationships with campus partners and stakeholders, in order to understand processes and programs, in order to construct working groups/committees to work through various project initiatives and challenges. You will utilize your leadership skills to adhere to project scopes and timelines; determine effective benchmarks and metrics; research and analyze various processes, programs and services; assess risks and recommend improvements, best practices and strategies. You will also pay particular attention to build into the projects a strong equity framework and analyze barriers for students who are marginalized, have diverse backgrounds, sexual orientation, and disabilities. The incumbent liaises with community partners on campus groups such as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office, which utilize critical perspectives on within their work.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
Liaising with management to determine goals and priorities
Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
Planning and implementing project phases
Researching and analyzing processes, programs and services and recommending changes for improvement
Developing components of programs and initiatives that advance strategic objectives
Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
Handling complex and/or sensitive information

**Essential Qualifications**:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, or relevant discipline, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in Project Management.
Minimum six (6) years' of related experience working on projects in a post-secondary environment with a focus on academic advising and career supports programming
Expert in project management and theories to develop sound project charters, scopes, conduct risk assessments, implementing various project phases, with sound benchmarking, metrics and reporting
Experience facilitating and presenting to highly engaged professionals and stakeholders with a broad range of experience and ideas
Demonstrated research experience, analyzing and utilizing theoretical approaches and best-practices in areas such as career counselling, employment coaching, academic advising, occupational paths and processes for higher education and employment
Superb communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse group of stakeholders and facilitate groups with a broad range of experience, ideas and backgrounds
Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills to manage simultaneous
