**Minimum Education**
- Completion of Grade 12 plus three (3) years’ office administration experience preferably in municipal government;
- Post-secondary training in office administration;
- Additional courses in Administration, Local Government Management, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Records Management are an asset.

**Technical Knowledge/Specific Skills/Physical Demands**
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft office suite, Adobe Pro other windows-based programs and financial software (e.g. MAIS; Visio) with the ability to learn new and changing technology;
- Experience and proficiency with a variety of office equipment;
- Well-rounded administrative skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of public administration considered an asset;
- Knowledge and experience with formal filing systems, records & information management principles and practices;
- Knowledge of the _Local Government Act _and _Community Charter _considered a strong asset;
- Ability to type 60 words per minute;
- Demonstrated social media experience (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter);
- Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation and of current office practices, procedures and equipment;
- Ability to multi-task effectively; strong time management skills and attention to detail.

**Typical duties will include**:

- Answering telehone and in-person enquiries;
- Drafting agendas and taking minutes at departmental and committee meetings;
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to operations of the departments;
- Providing clerical/financial support to assigned departments;
- Transferring data from different formats into database systems;
- Filing, coordinating meetings, and preparing letters and reports;
- Cashier duties;
- Conducting research;
- Other general office duties as assigned.

The terms and conditions of employment are covered by the CUPE Local 401 Collective Agreement. The rate of pay will be $32.04/hr. The successful applicant will be expected to work 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo a verification of their skills by completing a computer and skill testing assessments.
