**Volunteer Coordinator**

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees all aspects of the volunteer program.
- Recruits, screens, and delivers the orientation program for new volunteers and student placements.
- Develops, implements and evaluates procedures relating to the volunteer program.
- Develops and implements annual volunteer recruitment and retention strategies.
- Develops and implements training opportunities to enhance volunteer experiences and knowledge of procedures/practices and/or program needs.
- Ensures continued monitoring and evaluation of the volunteer program.
- Maintains regular contact with volunteers and, with the assistance of the Program Coordinators, evaluates the volunteers’ performance.
- Maintains accurate hardcopy and electronic volunteer files.
- Works with the HIMH team to assess the need for volunteers to meet program objectives.
- Coordinates and implements volunteer appreciation and recognition programs.
- Develops and disseminates a quarterly volunteer newsletter.
- Participates as a team member in the planning and delivery of revenue generation events as it pertains to volunteer resources
- Participates as a team member and assists in service provision, as necessary.
- Participates in seminars, meetings and maintains current knowledge of all agency policies, and procedures/practices.
- Performs other duties and functions as required.
- Educational background in Volunteer management, Human Resources management, or relevant post-secondary education
- Previous experience working with volunteers preferred
- Previous experience working within the not-for-profit sector preferred
- Proven presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings to accommodate CSSN events and business needs.
- Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office, customer relationship management (CRM)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and use of an automobile is required.
- Social media experience is an asset
- Bilingual in French and English is preferred
