Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

This position is a hands-on role responsible for performing the purchasing and inventory planning. Manages inventory replenishment based on maintenance demands and/or schedules, current inventory, and projects. Primary activities include planning, sourcing, purchasing, file maintenance, vendor negotiations, coordinating production orders/forecasts with sales and assisting maintenance and manufacturing in obtaining and interpreting vendor delivery information.

In addition, this position is also responsible for purchasing other general business requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Negotiate quality, delivery and price with external vendors and place purchase orders
- Expedite orders when appropriate
- Coordinate mid-season and winter maintenance parts by machine by plant.
- Tracks the CMMS system for parts used for cost by machine needs.
- Orders specialty aggregates for production
- Perform analyses of safety stock levels for current inventory profile and adjust as required to optimize levels, minimize carrying cost and avoid inventory stock outs
- Assist in the reconciliation of vendor packing slip and invoices against purchase orders
- Coordinate smooth transition of new product introduction by depleting stock of old products; maintain optimum level of inventory
- Act as liaison between vendors, sales, manufacturing and maintenance to communicate all pertinent information such as delivery dates, delays and regulatory issues
- Assist in performing inventory reconciliations by researching discrepancies and taking corrective action
- Other Duties: All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years of Inventory / Purchasing experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Computer Skills - excel, word, CMMS system, etc.
- Ability to work in a team, fast paced environment, and multi task
