**Position Description**:
Administrative Assistant Description:
This position provides administrative support to the Corporate Services and has ongoing contact with the Corporate Secretary and the Executive Team. The Administrative Assistant will be well organized, proficient with MS Office software, have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to multitask with good time management skills.

**About Horse Racing Alberta**

HRA is a not-for-profit corporation governed by individuals who represent various racetrack and breeding organizations and the general public. HRA licenses horse racetracks in Alberta and administers the rules that guide the conduct of officials, owners, trainers, and jockeys during horsing events.

The mandate of Horse Racing Alberta (HRA) is defined by the Horse Racing Alberta Act, and states that

HRA will:

- Govern, direct, control, regulate, manage, market, and promote horse racing in any or all of its forms; and
- Protect the health, safety, and welfare of racehorses and, with respects to horse racing, the safety and welfare of racing participants and racing officials; and
- Safeguard the interests of the general public in horse racing.

HRA’s core business strives to stabilize, enhance, and ensure the growth and integrity of the Alberta horse racing and breeding industry in Alberta.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Organize and schedule appointments and meetings
- Order office supplies
- Update documents
- Book travel arrangements
- Submit and reconcile expense reports
- Research and create presentations
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, etc.
- Cover the reception desk when required
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Receive, sort, and distribute the mail
- Conduct data entry
- Confirm reservations
- Provide polite and professional communication

**Education, Skills and Experience**
- High School Diploma
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Energetic, able to work with mínimal supervision and results-oriented.
- Good time management, multitasking and organizational skills.
- Great attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Eligible to work in Canada
